Shaw Design Group, P.A. performed professional architectural services including design and construction
documents for an new 41,500 s.f. office, maintenance shop and truck wash facility. Included in the scope of work was a master plan of the entire site to include the location of elevations, parking, landscaping on the site itself and the access road.
Located in the environmentally sensitive Turkey Creek flood plan, the project was designed to be a zero run-off site. All rainwater encompassed on the six acre site either evaporates, soaks into the ground, or is collected in the subsurface drainage and fed into a site retention pond, which is home to over 100,000 fish. Through environmentally safe systems of collection and filtration, the water is later utilized for the truck wash and then recycled. During certain weather conditions, new water must be introduced33 into the system.
The office area, shops, wash and site lighting are all L.E.D., resulting in a decreased energy consumption of 20%.
